Criminals plan return to pre-2015 era of bomb attacks – DSS
The Department of State Services has raised alarm on plans by some criminal elements to bomb critical government infrastructures, markets, religious and relaxation centres especially during and after the holidays and festive celebrations.
The service said their objective was to achieve some self-serving interests while causing fear among the citizenry.
The alert was contained in a statement on Tuesday, 26th April, 2022 by the DSS Public Relations Officer, Peter Afunanya, titled, “Public alert on renewed bomb explosions”
According to him, some criminal gangs have joined forces to recreate the bombings that rocked many parts of the country before 2015.
He noted that the new plan was not unconnected to the earlier warning that some persons and groups were planning to cause violence in the country.
He further advised owners and managers of the aforementioned public places to be wary of the development and implement adequate measures to deter the threat.
